Course Synopsis

Where: Cedar Park Recreation Center,
1435 Main St., Cedar Park, TX 78613

When: 3 PM to 5 PM, Every Sunday, 30th September through 18th November.
(Instead of November 11th, class will be on November 10th, 3 PM to 5 PM due to class room availability.)

Class size: Max 14 (Only 3 seats left), Staff ratio: 7:1

Cost: $350 (Fee includes one programmable Sphero Mini to take home)

What Students Learn

Scratch Programming:

As students create programs in Scratch, they learn core programming and computational concepts such as iteration and conditionals. They also gain an understanding of important mathematical concepts such as number systems, coordinates, variables, and random numbers.
In this programming course, students will learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.

Creative & Fun filled Projects with Sphero Mini:

Sphero Mini packs tons of fun into a tiny, app-enabled robotic ball. In each class, students program the Sphero mini robotic ball to drive, play games, learn to code, and do much more. Students will
 •  Write programs using graphical user interface
 •  Gain an understanding various programming concepts
 •  Understand concepts of conditionals by using an if/then/else statement
 •  Use variables to build a game powered by Sphero.
 •  Learn about loop until, and randomness within bounds to bring their classic game to life

What Students Create

 • Install and setup SpheroEdu on student's tablet
 • Install and setup Scratch Editor on student’s laptop
 • Program Sphero Mini to solve challenges
 • Program Sphero Mini to compete in fun filled games
 • Create your own interactive Animation & Games using Scratch programming

What Students Need

 •  Windows or Mac laptop for scratch programming
 •  Tablet (iOS or Android) to program Sphero-mini
 •  Notebook, Pen or Pencil
 •  Come with curious mind
